Groenland 001 - on limited 50th Anniversary Picture Disc
Klaus Dinger and Michael Rother, formerly of Kraftwerk, created Neu! in August of 1971. They recorded their first album with Conny Plank as engineer and co-producer over four nights in early December 1971 at Windrose (Dumont-Time) Studio in Hamburg, Germany. The album was mixed three days later at Star-Musik Studiio in Hamburg. The record was released in 1972.
After the release of their debut album on Metronome's newly founded "Brain" label, Neu! played several concerts, occasionally joined by Eberhard Kranemann on Hawaii guitar and Uli Trepte on bass.
