Luther Vandross
Never Too Much
Columbia 42901
After years of studio work, with the likes of Chaka Khan, Diana Ross, David Bowie, Gregg Diamond, Todd Rundgren, Quincy Jones, and many, many more, as well as lead vocalist in the short-lived groups, Change and Luther, Vandross knocked his solo debut out of the park when it hit the market in 1981. All the songs were written by him except for his show-shopping performance of the Bacharach / David song, "A House is not A Home". The title track was a No. 1 hit for him, and the first of many in his career.
