Many of these songs have a tangential relationship to Brian Wilson, or the Beach Boys, whether a co-write (Sharon Marie), a production (Sharon Marie & Gary Usher), a song by a collaborator (Gary Usher, Roger Christian & Bruce Johnston), a vocal guest spot (Sharon Marie & Gary Usher), or actually the Beach Boys under an alias (The Survivors). A cool collection of early surf-pop that ties chronologically with the Beach Boys' rise. Not long after this series (28 vols!) of LPs was originally released in 1978, this volume disappeared because of royalty issues. It is good to have it back in the US again.
