Getz / Gilberto is a collaboration between American saxophonist Stan Getz and Brazilian guitarist Joao Gilberto, and features composer and pianist Antonio Carlos Jobim. It helped to fuel the bossa nova craze of the 1960s and brought international attention to Astrud Gilberto who sang on the album's most celebrated songs. An essential part of any serious jazz collection, the album made bossa nova a permanent part of the jazz landscape.
