Ornette Coleman Quintet
Atlantic 1378 re-issue on 180g vinyl
Ornette! by The Ornette Coleman Quartet was his 7th studio album, originally released in 1962. The album features Coleman's stalwarts Don Cherry and Ed Blackwell, but has Scott LaFaro in place of Charlie Haden, who left for album, but would return later. The song titles are acronyms derived from works by Sigmund Freud: Wit and Its Relation to the Unconscious, Totem and Taboo, Civilization and its Discontents, and the essay Relation of the Poet to Day Dreaming. Jacket has the UK style fold over visible on the back.
