One of the originators of the Rock & Roll sound of the 50s, Little Richard (ne: Richard Penniman) had a string of electrifying singles during his first run. These are all essential tracks in the beginnings of rock & roll. With his piled on hairdo, his feminine make up and mannerisms, and his over-the-top performances, it's no wonder 50s parents were scared for their children. Elvis recorded 3 or 4 of his songs in the early years, McCartney stole his high OOhhh, and Jerry Lee borrowed his piano stylings. One of the greats!! RIP Richard
