John Lennon - Yoko Ono
Some Time in New York City
Apple / UMe  - re-issue 2 LP 180g LP pressing with thick gatefold jacket

Released in 1972, Some Time in New York City is John Lennon's third post-Beatles solo album, fifth with Yoko Ono, and third with producer Phil Spector. This album found the Lennons in an explicitly political phase; understandable as Lennon was neck-deep in his struggle to remain in the United States, a conflict rooted in his antiwar and antiestablishment politics and the enmity of the Nixon administration. The package is part studio and part live concert performances by Lennon / Ono and Elephant's Memory. Side C, released as Live Jam, was recorded on 15 December 15th, 1969 at the Lyceum Ballroom London for a UNICEF charity concert and on June 6th,  1971 at Fillmore East in New York City. Musicians who contributed to the 1969 performance included Eric Clapton, George Harrison, Nicky Hopkins, Keith Moon and Klaus Voormann, while the 1971 performance featured Frank Zappa and his band The
Mothers of Invention.
