1963's Our Man in Paris was recorded in Paris with fellow ex-pats Bud Powell, Pierre Michelot, & Kenny Clarke. Story is that the session was supposed to be with Kenny Drew, recording all Gordon originals, but he became unavailable, so they recruited Powell, who refused to record "new" tunes, so the session became a standards set. And a wonderful one it is!
