C.J. & Co. - Devil's Gun
C.J. & Co.
Devil's Gun
Westbound 301
Original disco / soul classic is produced by the great
Dennis Coffey, and includes lots of examples of
his amazing guitar playing. Mixes by the great
Tom Moulton, who is the top of the A list for disco
mixers in the heighth of the disco era! CJ & Co, however,
raise the typical disco record up a knotch by being a
great vocal group. Kinda like the wonderful Norman
Whitfield produced Temptations and Four Tops recordings, and
in fact, contains many of the same Detroit musicians that
appear on those great Motown discs. Oh...bonus...and
lots of Moog, too. (can you tell we dig this record?)
Contains;
Devil's Gun
We Got Our Own Thing
Free to Be Me
Get a Groove in Order to Move
Sure Can't Go to the Moon
Record looks really great, but has lots of noise, mostly
audible between tracks. (Westbound was NOT known for
quality pressings...) VG+
Jacket is VG+ as well. Shows ring wear on the front and
shelf wear on the spines - no breaches.
