The composer conducts the Ensemble Musique Vivante performing Laborintus II. The piece was written between 1963 and 1965 on a commission from ORTF to mark the occasion of the 700th anniversary of Dante's birth. "Laborintus" is the title of a poem by Edoardo Sanguineti and Laborintus II, performed by 3 voices, 17 instruments, chorus, speaker and magnetic tape, extends this work. The text develops certain themes of Dante's Vita Nuova, Convivio and Divine Comedy, and combines them, mainly by formal analogies and semantics, with Biblical texts and writing of Eliot, Pound and Sanguineti, himself the speaker on this disc. The disc is NM, the jacket is VG+ with some shelf wear evident on the spines, and some ring wear.
