These were the hallmarks of the funk-goes-to-outer-space style of Dayton natives Roger Troutman and his brothers, collectively called Zapp. The ten original recordings here, mostly from their 80's prime, can be enjoyed as a nostalgic dance party and as a spot-the-sample game. Zapp's influential sounds have been lifted by everyone from Janet Jackson to Notorious B.I.G.
