Horace Silver
6 Pieces of Silver
Blue Note 1539 - 180g re-pressing
On his first Blue Note date after relinquishing the Jazz Messengers moniker to Art Blakey, Horace Silver struck gold with the 1956 album, 6 Pieces of Silver, a sterling set of hard bop that introduced his indelible composition "Señor Blues." His 6th studio album as a leader, features the great band of Donald Byrd, Hank Mobley, Doug Watkins, Gene Taylor & Louis Hayes (in various combinations). It was originally released by Blue Note in 1957. This new audiophile vinyl re-issue is taken from the original Analog masters, and mastered by Kevin Gray at Cohearent Audio. In High Fidelity!
