Gettin' Into Somethin' is one of three excellent albums led by Bailey for the Epic label. It is a hard blowin', hard swingin' session, leaving plenty of space for soloing by the likes of bandmembers Clark Terry, Curtis Fuller, Charlie Rouse, Horace Parlan, & Peck Morrison. The session fits right alongside any hard bop sessions from Blue Note or Prestige of the time, and If this LP had been on one of those labels, it would be considered a rare classic today! Highly recommended for fans of the Art Blakey school of hard bop.
