The record reached #1 on the U.S. Billboard album chart, holding the top spot for five weeks. It generated two major singles: “A Horse with No Name”, which spent three weeks at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, and “I Need You”, which peaked at #9. Other songs, including “Sandman” and “Three Roses”, also gained airplay on FM radio. The album was later certified Platinum by the RIAA.
