Wynton Kelly - Wynton Kelly!

Wynton Kelly! is an album by jazz pianist Wynton Kelly released on the Vee-Jay label featuring performances by Kelly with Paul Chambers or Sam Jones and Jimmy Cobb recorded in 1961. A quick revue of his session work in 1961, shows Kelly very very busy, recording with the likes of Fathead Newman, Teri Thornton, Sam, Philly Joe, & Elvin (in separate sessions), Cannonball, Miles, Hank Mobley, and others! Kelly was still a member of Miles's band in 1961, as were Chambers & Cobb, having recorded with Miles on a number of his most-loved recordings, including Kind of Blue. This is a nice relaxed set of standards and originals.
