Thorinshield Self titled LP Philips 600-251 - Stereo pressing original grey label Run off grooves read; PHS6600251A - M1 on side 1 and PHS600251B-M1 on side 2 and he mysteriously-named Thorinshield released an album and two singles in 1968 which, though they sank without trace, are now prized by fans of so-called 'sunshine pop'. Their roots lay in Los Angeles, where drummer Terry Hand had played in numerous surf bands, as well as recording two singles with Everpresent Fullness. Bassist Bobby Ray, meanwhile, was a seasoned session player who had participated in Donovan’s legendary May 1966 sessions in LA, resulting in songs including the classic Season Of The Witch. Record is EX, Beautiful Shine, Clean! possibly unplayed. There is a line from the label out into perhaps the last 4-6 grooves that pop - otherwise there are no flaws. Original owner seemed to have a connection to Philips / Mercury as many of these ORIGINAL LPs have punch holes, or other promo marks on them, and they don't appear to have ever been played. |
