First CD release of an important recording from 1979. Trumpeter/composer Wadada Leo Smith leads a quintet with Dwight Andrews (clarinet, wooden flute & tenor saxophone), Bobby Naughton (vibraharp), Wes Brown (bass & wooden flute) and Pheeroan akLaff (drums) in two original compositions - Images and Spirit Catcher. In addition, Leo prepared a very unusual piece for muted trumpet and three harps - The Burning of Stones. This unusual piece is presented in two realizations. Recorded by the legendary Rudy Van Gelder. An alternate version of The Burning of Stones has been added to the lp program. Recorded at RVG’s in 1979
