The incredible Chicago based Frame Quartet in a studio album of six Vandermark compositions dedicated to Peter Brotzmann / Han Bennink / Fred Van Hove, Ennio Moricone, Jimmy Lyons, and Steve Lacy. Each piece is conducted by a different member of the quartet, with the exception of M.E.S. (for Merce Cunningham). Frame Quartet is perhaps Chicago's most powerful free improvising group, taking an eclectic yet always swinging approach to new music. 35mm is a wild ride steered with strong compositions and fueled by a solid pulse.
