60's (soon-to-be) Supergroup
BUFFALO SPRINGFIELD
Atco R1 33200M
The main 3 - friends Stephen Stills (later of Crosby, Stills & Nash), Richie Furay (later of Poco), and Neil Young (later of Neil Young) released their self-titled debut album in Dec of 1966. They were reportedly unhappy with the production and recording created by their managers at the time, but rather than allow the band to re-record the album, the label let Stills & Young mix down the stereo tapes for the mono release. For years, the mono version has been seen as the superior version, and now is your chance to hear and judge for yourself, as this release is the Mono mix, released in this form for the first time on vinyl since its initial release. Interestingly, their first big hit, For What it's Worth, did NOT appear on the initial Dec pressings of the album, but was released as a single nearly simultaneously with the LP release. When the single became a hit, the 2nd pressing, in March of 1967, added FWIW, and deleted Baby Don't Scold Me. This new issue contains both songs!! and All in MONO and mastered from the original analogue tapes!
